It's All About You, But Here's a Little About Me...
Hi, I'm Rachael, a Sports Therapist with over 20 years of experience in injury assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and clinical research. My background spans private practice, professional sport, higher education, and working with a wide range of people—not just athletes.
While I’ve spent time in elite performance settings, I equally value working with everyday people—whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing ongoing pain, or simply seeking a clear diagnosis to help you move and function better in daily life.
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy in 2004, completed an MSc, and spent many years as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader in Sports Therapy alongside running a MSK clinic. I continue to contribute to the profession as a guest lecturer, HE external adviser, and mentor to both Sports Therapists and Physiotherapists.
My approach is straightforward and evidence-based. I focus on helping people get clear about what’s going on with their body, understand their options, and work towards recovery with a plan that makes sense to them.
I am extensively trained in musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis, and treatment techniques, including manual therapy such as joint mobilisation and soft tissue work. My expertise also covers rehabilitation planning and exercise prescription, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, injury prevention, load management, and return-to-activity planning—whether for sport, work, or everyday life. Additionally, I provide pain education and support for long-term conditions. I work with clients across all activity levels, from those managing everyday discomfort to athletes preparing to return to high performance.
Professional Standards
I'm a member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST), the professional body that sets and upholds standards in education, ethics, and clinical practice within Sports Therapy. My practice is fully insured and compliant with current healthcare regulations, including data protection, consent, and professional conduct. I maintain high clinical standards utilising current evidence-based research to ensure the care I provide is relevant, effective, and individually tailored.
